Harmon H. Strode, 83 years old, a Waveland merchant for ½ a century (marked out in pen) died here on Wednesday evening of last week at 5 o'clock at the home of a daughter, Mrs. MC Wilshire. He had been ill four weeks with complication of diseases. Born March 24, 1859 at Tomkinsville, Ky the son of William and Julia Strode he was married twice, first on Oct 30, 1879 to Elzira ARTERBERN and on Nov 6, 1890 to Polly BOWLS both of whom preceded him in death. Mr. Strode was a member of the Baptist Church and had a host of friends in this community where he had spent practically all of his life. Surviving besides the daughter at whose home he died are a son, Hulet Strode of Mace; 14 grandchildren, 41 great and two great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by four children. Funeral services were held at the Baptist Church in Skages Creek, Ky with burial also in Ky.
